 I eagerly work alongside our incredibly talented faculty to empower CCHS’s secondary students on their journey towards excellence.
Together, we uphold a commitment to unwavering rigor in our curriculum and provide exceptional leadership through a diverse range of enriching activities. Our school community, comprised of dedicated educators, motivated students, and actively engaged families, holds a special place in this shared journey.

Biography

Mrs. Ana Isabel Esteva, our Secondary School Principal, brings over 25 years of experience in education to the CCHS community. As a founding faculty member at CCHS, Mrs. Esteva’s journey in education has evolved as a primary teacher, English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) Specialist, Special Education Teacher, and Instructional Coach, and most recently, as the School Director at an International Baccalaureate (IB) certified school in Santiago de los Caballeros. Her heart led her back to the CCHS family, where she assumed the role of Department Head of the Student Services and Spanish Programs before assuming her current position as Secondary Principal.
Mrs. Esteva’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in psychology, and a Masters in Special Education. Her pedagogical philosophy centers around creating connections, implementing differentiated instruction, and placing students at the core of her vision.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Esteva is a music enthusiast, enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, and exploring new destinations through travel.

Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is based on international and national standards (Common Core State Standards, Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, and NGSS) and includes curricular options aimed at meeting students’ interests, including, but not limited to Model United Nations, Band, digital media and podcasting, fine arts, and college and career readiness orientation. Our instructional focus is to provide high standard academic programming that builds 21st century future ready skills for our students at the appropriate developmental stages Our educational philosophy is centered on meeting the individual needs of the student and prioritizes project based learning and real-world application. We value and empower student voice and choice throughout the curriculum with the objective of developing creative and confident young leaders. Our highly qualified faculty embodies our school’s core mission and values of Leadership, Wisdom and Integrity in everything that we do for our students. Students are challenged to build their global citizenship skills by being engaged in their communities through participation in various course and extracurricular activities, our service learning program, as well as college preparation programming at each grade level for all students.
