Early Childhood

Our Early Childhood Program implements a holistic approach to teaching that uses free and directed centers inside of the classrooms to create the joy of independent exploration and build an educational foundation that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Using the project approach for student learning, teachers provide children with a variety of activities that enable them to learn through discovery, inquiry, play, as well as listening, communicating, creating, writing, singing, and dancing. The teacher acts as a facilitator, suggesting and guiding ways of improving children’s skills and reinforcing positive self-concept.

Our standard-based curriculum is designed to academically challenge every student through the integration of the subject areas and connection to the real world. We believe that learning is a meaningful process. Assessment instruments such as portfolios, documentations, and anecdotal notes help us to examine student growth over time and provide teachers with the necessary knowledge to best support each student.

Early Childhood is organized into self-contained classrooms, which include the following grades: Nido (one year-olds), Maternal (two year olds), Nursery (three year olds),PreKinder (four year olds), Kindergarten (five year olds), and 1st and 2nd grades.
