Academic dishonesty and plagiarism

At CCHS, one of our student outcomes is to help students develop competencies in critical thinking and investigative learning. Part of that process is helping teach students the correct way to conduct investigative research and to credit other scholars for their work and efforts. Therefore, we have a strict academic honesty and plagiarism policy, as we strive to create critical thinkers who exhibit integrity.

Academic dishonesty includes: plagiarism, cheating, giving, receiving or sharing information by any means or media, prior to or during tests, quizzes, projects or homework assignments, using unauthorized material such as notes during an exam, stealing confidential information (such as exams), or helping another student commit an act of academic dishonesty, and lying to protect another student who has committed an act of academic dishonesty.

Any student who violates this policy will receive a 0% on the assignment (with no possibility of making up the work), and appropriate disciplinary action will be implemented. Disciplinary action could include, but is not limited to, suspension from school and referral to the CCHS Academic-Disciplinary Committee.
